Hello! My name is Elaine McManus and I am the owner of Freehand Scraps. I’ve been scrapbooking for 13 years and this hobby has certainly changed a lot during that time. When I first started scrapbooking, the only supplies I owned were a shape template, scissors, glue, and a few stickers (sound familiar anyone?). Back then, I primarily scrapbooked my vacations because I didn’t take very many pictures except when I was on vacation.

So what’s different now? The explosion of the industry and the introduction of digital cameras has changed the way a lot of people scrapbook. But for me, the death of my father in 2003 had the biggest impact. After that, I realized scrapbooking was a lot more than just preserving vacation memories. It was a way to document this thing called life as it whizzes past us: the good, the bad, the special moments, even the everyday. These are the things that make up our unique life story as only we can tell it.

Scrapbooking isn’t just about capturing memories. It’s also a way to express oneself creatively, learn new things, and constantly be inspired. Not to mention, it’s also just plain fun!

By filling each kit with the best, cutest, and most exciting items the scrapbook world has to offer, I hope to inspire you each and every month to tell your story, be creative, and have fun. Because that’s what it’s all about.
