My name is Heidi Stork and I am the founder of Freehand Scraps. It’s hard to tell where this scrapbooking journey began…it goes all the way back to my childhood. I joke that I had no choice but to be CREATIVE, it’s in my genes! If you had asked me as a child what I wanted to be when I grew up I would have told you one of three things…a pilot, a photographer, or the first woman president. (Pretty high aspirations… good thing I came to my senses about the whole president thing. You could not pay me enough to have that job!)
I have always loved photography and my wonderful Grandpa Jack shared that passion. He nurtured this common passion by buying me my first camera — it was a pink Le Clic and I adored it. I took photography classes in school and when I was introduced to scrapbooking in 1998, I knew it was for me.
To me, scrapbooking is about telling your story. What better way to do that than combining your cherished photographs with your own voice in a creative and artistic way! I have worked as a professional scrapbooker for many years helping to preserve others precious memories. I have a very talented and wonderfully supportive family that I believe are world-changers. I want to be just like them someday! My mom is my creative inspiration and one of my heroes. She can make absolutely anything out of nothing at all. She also taught me that anything worth doing is worth doing well.
So I am launching Freehand Scraps with the determination to go the extra mile, and make each and every kit one that is unique and inspires!
I am a mom to Tanner who is four, and to Chloe who is three, and they both amaze me everyday! I am a sister, a daughter, a friend, and a child of God, and I like it just the way it is. |
